Different types of blogs
After researching and looking at what different blog platforms provide and don’t provide, they all have one thing in common. They all make it easy for you to post you own views and ideas. I compared three different blogs. They are Tumblr, Blogger, and Edublogs.org. In all three of these platforms you can link other pages to your posts. You can also post pictures and videos. All three of these blogs make networking very easy. However, it is much more useful for teachers and students to use Edublogs because of its powerful learning tools that you won’t find on other platforms. Some of these tools would include wikis, surveys, and quizzes. Tumblr is also set up a little different than most blogging platforms. I feel like Tumblr is a little more hipster than others and they make it super simple to link cool photos and videos. It seems like it was meant for a younger generation. Blogger is really nice because it links with your google account. It is really simple to keep all of you posts synced with all of your google related accounts. I use blogger because its plain and simple.
Great ways to stay safe in the cyber world!
A lot of people have used the internet to do a lot of harm and bad things to other people. I will try and give your some helpful tips that I found on the web (click here) on how to protect yourself from the bad guys. Tip number uno.
1. Make your stuff as private as possible. I think that the less people know about you, the less they have to hurt you. When you have an option to make something private, DO IT!
2. Don’t share you personal info like your full name or birthday and especially where you live. You don’t have complete control once your info goes public and who knows who’s watching.
3. Don’t share your friends or anyone else’s info either. How would you feel if somebody started giving your info to strangers? A lot of problems on the internet have stemmed from people spreading gossip or giving up private info.
4. Always re-read your posts before posting them. Keep in mind that blogs are very public and what you say can be used against you.
5. Be very careful with the pictures you post. Always keep in mind that future employers will have access to your blog and they will most likely be seeing what kind of a person you are in the cyber world.
6. Always protect your blog as if it were your bank account. Never give out your password and always remember to log out when leaving your device unattended. Keep in mind that a lot of people love to play tricks on people and act like they are them. It could really hurt your name if someone acting as you posted something offensive and everyone that saw the post your blog would only think that you posted it. So be careful!

Using Blogging as a tool to teach!
After surfing the web and looking at different blogs, I found this one,
Two guys and some iPads
I thought that it was really cool how these guys use technology to not only entertain others, but they educate them with it. It really makes learning new stuff more enjoyable.
These guys have made it super easy to follow them and learn just by clicking the links in their blogs. I think that in my future career I too would like to make learning fun and exciting. I can also link videos of different topics and things that are happening in the world around me. All those who I will be working with will be able to see exactly what I want them to and learn/do what I need them to.
